INQUA-Moldova – is a non-governmental and non-profit organization. The organization was founded in 1986 and registered as public ecological organization in 1998 (no. 0589). It includes about 50 experts in natural sciences and ecology and it is one of the oldest NGO in the Republic of Moldova.
INQUA-Moldova is widely known in the Republic of Moldova and abroad as a community of highly professional experts and specialists able to carry on any projects of different complexity.
The organization is a leader in innovative environmental researches and programs. Our current focus is mainly promoting environmental sustainable society. The organization deals with ecological education and propaganda of environment knowledge, as well as undertaking of complex practical researches in the field of natural sciences through organizing of ecological expeditions and environmental assessments as well as laboratory work.
The INQUA-Moldova Mission for all its projects and activities is to achieve sustainable development while protecting the environment and natural resources. Our activities are focused on empowering local communities to manage and care for their environment.
As an organization, INQUA-Moldova works in alliance with others: at local, national, regional and global levels to help shape a future of peace and security through the efficient and equitable management of natural resources.
INQUA-Moldova has experience in conducting projects in two sectors:
- Public/civil society – for behavioral change that builds an environmental ethic and complementary education which enhances the capacity of civil society (especially children and youth) to contribute to environmental protection in the Republic of Moldova.
- Public central and local authorities – Environmental Capacity Development: for executive management and leadership to build capacity in providing appropriate environmental services.
- Organization of workshops, trainings and scientific conferences, expeditions and excursions (scientific/research and sightseeing), promoting agro-ecological tourism, traditions, values and national traditions.
