Map of the tour
On the territory of Odessa and the Odessa Bay once was located an ancient Greek colony, the remains of which were found directly below the current Primorsky boulevard. The water level was different, lower, and the coastline was held far more than is now Odessa lighthouse. It is close to the lighthouse and it is still sometimes find ancient Greek artifacts. Because of the low water level Tendrov Spit went much further than it is now, and the settlement in the area of the lighthouse is actually controlled out of the mouth of the Bug and the Dnepr River to the Black Sea, and thus had a very convenient geopolitical location. Archaeological artifacts confirm the existence of ties between the Odessa region and the eastern Mediterranean. In the Middle Ages the territory of Odessa was in the possession of various nomadic tribes (Pechenegs, Polovtsy), the Golden Horde, the Crimean Khanate, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Ottoman Empire. In Odessa, the most important objects of cultural and cognitive tourism are Fine Art Museum, Local history Museum, Archeological Museum, Literary Museum and also the objects that have already become Odessa brand: Potemkin steps, Monument to Duke de Richelieu, Odessa National Opera And Ballet Theatre, monument to Odessa Founders, etc.
